I first contacted Davina in August 2023 as I needed support with my application for my son’s *EHC (needs assessment). Mine was a very complicated case, with lots of delays and a very unresponsive LA.

Davina got to work straight away, and in November I was delighted to receive the news that the LA had agreed to issue a plan for my son. This would not have been possible without Davina’s help, she was constantly in touch with the LA via email and telephone and was always at the end of the line when I needs someone to talk to.

Before I contacted Davina I was stressed, overwhelmed and felt completely alone. Trying to get the support my 12 year old daughter, who presented with autism was impossible, she had been perm ex from previous school having difficulties in new school and close to perm ex again. The LA refused an EHCP and I was left with not knowing where to go to find her support. And then a friend recommended Davina.

From the initial contact I felt at ease, not only by the fact that she told me I was not alone and she was there to support (which made me cry), but also because she was so knowledgeable and up to date on legislation and the responsibilities of the LA to support a child who presents with an SEN. She asked for all information dating back to reception, and compiled a report stating where my daughter needed support and how to get it. Once this was presented to the LA things changed! Although she still does not have an EHCP, the LA paid attention to her needs and put strategies in place to support her, the school and me.

She has been allocated a social worker, is due to start respite care, and support has been given to the school, all of which would not have happened had I not contacted Davina. Although my daughter is still undergoing assessments privately, the support would not have been put in place without Davina and her expert knowledge and genuine heart, which shows as she still messages me to ask how me and my daughter are getting along 7 months after I first contacted her.
